For their fourth studio release, the Radiohead of British jazz have taken a headlong leap into interstellar soundscapes, with cosmic melodies and seemingly limitless arrangements. It’s a record laden with intellectual stillness amid its itchy rhythms and fugal pianos. A Humdrum Star is a stunning piece of music making, and almost certainly GoGo Penguin’s best work.

Man Made Object is the third album by jazz piano trio GoGo Penguin. It's their first of a three-album deal with the jazz label Blue Note. About the name of their third album, the pianist Chris Illingworth explain that the title is partly inspired by his fascination with ideas of robotics, transhumanism and human augmentation.

Vinyl LP repressing. Recorded in 1964, Herbie Hancock's EMPYREAN ISLES was his fourth album for Blue Note and features Freddie Hubbard on cornet. This release debuts two of Hancock's most treasured songs, "One Finger Snap" and "Cantaloupe Island". Black Radio is the fifth studio album by American jazz pianist/hip hop producer Robert Glasper, recorded with his electric quartet, the Robert Glasper Experiment.

Alfred Lion considered Andrew Hill his last major discovery and rightly so. Hill's rich, rhythmic piano and utterly unique compositions stand alone. Point Of Departure is Hill's masterpiece with rich three-horn arrangements for Kenny Dorham, Eric Dolphy and Joe Henderson. Richard Davis and Tony Williams complete this high level ensemble.

For the second of Cecil Taylor's two Blue Note albums (following Unit Structures), the innovative pianist utilized a sextet comprised of trumpeter Bill Dixon, altoist Jimmy Lyons, both Henry Grimes and Alan Silva on basses and drummer Andrew Cyrille.

The Cape Verdean Blues is a 1966 album by a jazz quintet led by pianist Horace Silver. The quintet is augmented on the last three tracks on the album by trombonist J. J. Johnson. The album was inspired by Silver's father, John Tavares Silva, who was born in Cape Verde.

A Night at Birdland Vol. 1 is a 1954 release by jazz artist Art Blakey, and a quintet which featured Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Horace Silver and Curly Russell.

Magic in Your Eyes is the fourth studio album by Earl Klugh released in 1978. Chet Atkins, whom Klugh considers to be one of his main influences, is featured on the song "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues".

Blue Train is a studio album by John Coltrane, first released in January 1958 on Blue Note Records. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, it is the only Blue Note recording by Coltrane as session leader. It has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.
